Here are a few testimonials since the new operators have taken over Cargo…
We wanted to find a bar in central Edinburgh where our friends and family could gather to celebrate our engagement. We didn’t want anything too formal so weren’t too keen on hiring out a hall or anything, so when I popped into Cargo for a quick look round their mezzanine area it was ideal! I dropped off some crisps, snacks and a few ‘congratulations’ banners and the staff had kindly laid this all out for us arriving on Friday. Paul kindly gave us a little more room as the other side of the mezzanine wasn’t hired out that night which was great as it meant more seating area for our guests. The place looked great, our guests had a great time and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Would definitely recommend it for a party!”

Cargo was the perfect place to host our charity pub quiz. Not only was the venue ideal, with the flexibility of the mezzanine floor, but Paul and the team were incredibly helpful and flexible in catering to our specific requirements both before and during the event. A hugely successful and enjoyable night had by all – I would definitely recommend Cargo and it would be my first port of call for all future events”.

Cargo hosted EMC for all Home matches in Scotland over the 6 Nations. I have no problem giving it 5 stars (out of 5!) for the atmosphere and the service.
We had our own separate area in the upstairs Mezzanine area, so guests felt they had exclusive access. The servers were upbeat and engaged, even though it was busy with other punters in the downstairs bar. We were able to brand our area too to make it feel like our own, which many venues are less inclined to do so.
I think the atmosphere suited our event well as it was informal and engaging for customers. It is a good open light space too, and the atmosphere down stairs and Plasma TV broadcasting Sports coverage was just what we wanted for a pre-match event.
Its location worked well for guests to move on to Murrayfield Stadium and the food was above average. Guests enjoyed tucking into some “Haggis neeps and tatties” to warm them up before heading out to the cold weather.
Overall, we had a good time there and I would recommend it to other corporate companies looking for a good-service sports bar with some flair to entertain guests.”

When I was asked to organise a fundraising event for my department I initially contacted Cargo due to its close proximity to the office and the space it has upstairs. The service I received was great, on the lead up to the event Paul was happy to answer all my queries, and on the evening the team were accommodating and very helpful. Overall we had a great experience using Cargo and I would be happy to approach them for future events that I’m organising.”
